Spring onion and beef on a hot plate is a common dish in Chinese menus. I decided to bump up the flavor profile by adding garlic and ginger, two very Asian condiments that kick some pungent fragrance!
Ingredients for Marinade
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon corn starch
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- a dash of white pepper
Ingredients (serves 2-3)
- 1/2 lb sliced beef
- 2 stalks spring onion, cut into 2 inch segments
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 slices ginger
- 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sweet dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
Marinate the sliced beef in the marinade for at least an hour.
When ready to cook, heat the pan and add two tablespoons of cooking oil.
Fry the garlic and ginger until fragrant, then add the sliced beef to the pan.
When the beef is half-cooked, add the spring onions, light soy sauce and dark soy sauce.
Fry until the beef is cooked, then serve and enjoy!
