Orlando Eats: The Hyppo – Artisan Ice Pops @ Downtown

This was from our Disneyworld trip! View other posts from this trip here: Teriyaki House, Tako Cheena, El Potro Mexican Restaurant, and Q’Kenan.

Driving around Colonial Drive and downtown Orlando after lunch at Teriyaki House, we chanced upon The Hyppo – Artisan Ice Pops, and decided to stop in because it was so sweltering hot outside! What drew me in was ‘artisan ice pops’ – like really? You could do that?

To answer that, yes they can! They had flavors like strawberry basil, pear pie and pineapple ginger. They all sounded great and looked great too! Also, for $3.50 a pop for local and organic ingredients, I think they are well priced! The interior was clean and almost minimalist – there weren’t much furniture except for some tables and chairs. There was one person manning the store, and he places your order on an iPad. Yes! I love the vibe of this place – everything I expect from a place called ‘Hyppo’!

Strawberry Basil Ice Pop – $3.50: I had a strawberry basil ice pop. The strawberry flavor was very strong, and sometimes overwhelmed the basil flavor a little. Nevertheless, it was a fresh and cool treat!

Watermelon Ice Pop – $3.50: Jas had the watermelon ice pop. It tasted like watermelon, except with the watermelon flavors boosted! It was incredibly yummy!

We will definitely go back to Hyppo the next time we’re in town. I can’t wait to try the Pear Pie flavor! 🙂
