The classic mashed potatoes, a basic side dish at any Western establishment. It is easy to make, easy to eat and so delicious. I don’t care too much about mashed potatoes, because I prefer my potatoes baked (I like to keep them whole, and keep their texture), but Jason likes mashed potatoes, so we sometimes have mashed potatoes as part of our dinner.
This basic recipe is as good as it gets. Of course, what doesn’t taste good when you add butter to it?
Ingredients (2 servings)
- 3 russet potatoes, cubed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 to 1/3 cup milk, if needed
- salt and pepper to taste
Boil potatoes in a pot until soft (about 20 to 30 minutes).
Drain, and mash potatoes with a potato masher.
Add butter and cream, and continue mashing. Add salt and pepper to taste.
