Singapore Eats: Fu Cheng Shi Pin 富城食品 Homemade Spring Roll @ Marine Parade

Pit-stopped here to get some popiahs after shopping at Parkway Parade with my mum and aunt. To be completely honest, I never knew about this popiah stall until I saw the line. Boy was it long! My mum is the expert for long lines. Anytime she sees a long line, she’ll join the line and get what other people are getting. That’s a good way to find good foods – find the line!

Popiah – SGD1.60: The popiah was a little on the small side, but once you bit into it, size really didn’t matter. The skin is moist and crepe-like, unlike those paper-ish types, and holds in the moisture from the turnips well. The turnips are slightly sweet and still had some texture, just the way I liked it. The chili added just the right amount of spice, and the best part of the popiah was definitely the fried up crispy flour bits that they added. That one ingredient brought this from a good popiah to an awesome popiah.
