Our friends Travis and Lauren introduced us to this place. It is a family restaurant that mainly sells ice cream, but also has a wide variety of food as well. We really like the atmosphere and how family-friendly this place is. Also, ice cream!
Original Cabot’s Burger with Cheddar and Sauteed Onions – $4.99 (burger) + 69c (cheddar) + 69c (onions): The burger was okay–just like any other regular burger around. But, the fries were delicious! Super crisp!
Fried Breaded Chicken Cutlet Sandwich with Fried Onion Petals – $5.99 (sandwich) + $1.49 (onion petals): This sandwich was fine too. The onion petals were a little bit of a disappointment. I didn’t like the breading, and it turned soggy after a while.
Stuffed Turkey Dinner – $8.99: White meat turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potato with giblet gravy! The turkey was moist and tender, but the mashed potatoes were not that good. They were definitely not made from real potatoes! Gravy was okay, but they were very stingy with it. I had to ask the waiter for more, and even then, there was not enough gravy! There was also stuffing, but very little of it. 😦
Old Fashioned Sheppard’s Pie – $8.99: Ground sirloin with corn. layered with mashed potato and topped with gravy! Strangest sheppard’s pie ever. It was mostly corn and beef (very dry) covered with mashed potato and topped with the same gravy I had. Looked and tasted nothing like the sheppard’s pies I know! 😦
Highlight of the meal was definitely the sundaes! We got a mint one and a peanut butter one. I don’t remember which sundaes exactly, but they were so good. Probably enough sugar to charge a whole classroom of fifth graders. The sundaes were between $6.59-8.79 each. These were so good, but I would order one to share among four people because these are huge! Ice cream is definitely much better than the food.
