While waiting for the lor mee at the famed Bukit Purmei lor mee stall, we decided to order some other snacks to fill our stomachs because the wait was estimated to be about an hour. We decided that Indian rojak was good snack food, and good for sharing as well, and decided to get some to try. The Indian rojak here was one of the best I’ve tried, and after our first plate, we ordered not one, but two more!! I did not try the prata here, but I heard it is very good too.
Here’s the store front. It sells Indian rojak and all sorts of other things like prata, mee goreng, thosai etc. A lot of variety!
Here’s the spread for Indian rojak! As you can see, there’s a lot that they sell here!
You just go up to the window, and pick what you want from what you see!
This is our first plate. It was devoured in seconds! I loved almost everything on the plate. The potatoes were crisp, and everything was freshly fried. All very crisp and light, and not at all oily. The sauce was also very delicious–slightly sweet and savory, and does not overpower the aroma of what’s on the plate. This first plate was about $12 or $13. Not too expensive!
In fact, it was so good, that we went back for a second plate.
And a third plate! I think the second and third plate were between $8 and $10. And I would gladly make it back here for more Indian rojak. This is the kind of place that I would make the trip for, especially since there was not much of a wait as well. More worth than going to Bukit Purmei for lor mee!
