This was our last meal in Costa Rica! Our guide from the sea kayaking tour, who lives in Quepos, recommended Soda Sanchez to us. It is very conveniently located just across the street from the bus station. It’s a good place to people watch and has wifi too. Service was sporadic at best, but that was okay. Happy to not be bothered!
Table setting! See that green bottle of salsa there? Yay!
Beef steak casado – 2800 colones / US$5.60: Quite good! Most tender beef steak casado this trip. The onions are to die for–so sweet! The sides are kinda miniscule compared to Viquez’s, but it was still pretty good for the buck. Cheapest casado we had too!
Fish casado – 3200 colones / US$6.40: Firstly, the proportion of rice to other things is a little off. There was a lot of rice. Everything on the plate was good. Good value too!
Plantain with Cheese – 2000 colones / US$4: For dessert, we found this. Cheese and plantain! So good. I love the charred plantain bits!
I say, this was a pretty good last meal in Costa Rica. Can’t wait to get back for more casados!
